2:30pm Briefing session: Study at Kyoto University
Introduction of Kyoto University, the new short-term research internship and consultation
Lecturer: Professor Motofumi Suzuki
Motofumi Suzuki has been a Professor in the Department of Micro Engineering at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University since 2002. He is also the Deputy Director-General of the Office of Society-Academia Collaboration for Innovation (SACI). He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from Kyoto University in 1986, 1988, and 1998, respectively. From 1988 to 2002, he was a researcher at Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. His research interests include shape-related properties and their applications, especially optical elements and sensing devices that use various local enhancement effects by employing the so-called “Glancing Angle Deposition” technique. He is also interested in developing novel techniques to control nanomorphology by understanding the atomic processes during the growth of nanostructures.
